Superficials Third Album: Lights!

May 30th, 2008 | Category: Loot, Music

Lights

Lights is the Superficials third album.  Lights is a home recording comprised of 11 Paul-penned songs.  Plans for Lights were initially modest, the collection intended primarily for demo purposes.  This changed, however, when the group met Jim Lightman, who offered to lend his well-known ears to the project.  With Jim’s direction and engineering skills, Lights developed into an entirely different kind of monster.  Lights is a manufactured and commercially released album like Yearbook, and it’s full of terrific, hot tracks.

Tracks:

1. Life’s Got Rules

2. Girl Don’t You Slow It

3. Look No More

4. You’ve Got To Run

5. Think Tank

6. You Keep Us on the Outside

7. All Mine

8. All Yours

9. My Beautiful Friend

10. I Want to Feel Good

11. Heaven Must Have Sent You

Superficials Second Album: Berry Hill Bungalow

September 16th, 2007 | Category: Discography, Loot

Berry Hill Bungalow CD Cover Berry Hill Bungalow

Berry Hill Bungalow is the Superficials’ sophmore outing.  In the winter of 2005-2006, the Superficials began recording a demo of new songs on borrowed equipment in the 1940’s Bungalow they were living in.  After a while, the project ballooned into a serious endevour, with the help of producer Joe Kuhlmann from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Matt Coble and Dean Carroll from Nashville.

Amplifier Magazine
says:

“The Superficials put together a charming not-so-lo-fi album.  “Somehow” a plaintive love song, is as strong as any pop/rock song you’ll hear on the radio this year.  [With] lots of vocal harmonies and solid musicianship…look for this touring band through the south and midwest.”

IndiePro.com says:
“Donning a fun and unique style, Berry Hill Bungalow inspires toe-tappin’ and head-bobbin’ throughout each song.  The music is light and happy, with an interesting lyrical arrangement.”Berry Hill Bungalow features 12 all-new, all-original tracks:

  1. Mermaid
  2. Fine Line
  3. Somehow
  4. The Bellows (for Cecilia C. Jones)
  5. Written in the Stars
  6. Rainbows & Roses
  7. Townie
  8. Answer Key
  9. 666-69
  10. Something Right
  11. Count on Me
  12. Rex & Regina
